Chippewa Valley Century Ride - What's New? 🚴‍♂️💨

May 24th

What’s New for the 2026 Chippewa Valley Century Ride? 🚴‍♂️💨

Gear up, riders! As we prepare for the 40th Annual Chippewa Valley Century Ride this May, our team has been hard at work behind the scenes. Whether you are a "Century" veteran or a first-time participant, we are rolling out several exciting updates to make your ride smoother, safer, and more enjoyable. ☀️

Here is a look at what we’ve been working on for you this year:

1. New Horizons: The Old Abe Trail 🌲

We are thrilled to announce that we are working closely with Chippewa County to incorporate portions of the Old Abe State Trail into our routes. This beautiful, paved trail follows the shoreline of the Chippewa River, offering a serene, car-free stretch of scenery that highlights the natural beauty of our region. 🛶

2. Park with Ease: New Bike Racks 🚲

Tired of leaning your pride and joy against a fence? We’ve invested in brand-new bike racks located at both the rest stops and the main fairgrounds. Now you can rack your bike securely while you grab a snack or head to the post-ride brat feed. 🌭

3. Safety First: GMRS Radio Support 📻

Clear communication is key to a safe ride. This year, we are upgrading our course support with GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) radio capabilities. This enhanced communication network will allow our SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles and rest stops to coordinate more effectively, ensuring help is never more than a radio call away. 🛠️

4. Better Wayfinding: Updated Signage 🪧

Getting lost is never part of the plan! We have revamped our course signage to be clearer and more visible. From the rolling hills of the 100-mile loop to the scenic stretches of the 35-mile route, our updated markers will guide you every pedal of the way. 🛣️

5. Gear Up: New Souvenir Items 🛍️

Check out our new souvenir items! All proceeds from these sales go directly toward fundraising for our new and updated ride equipment. It’s a great way to take home a piece of the 40th anniversary while helping us keep the ride safe and modern for years to come. 🧢

6. The Heart of the Ride: Our Volunteers ❤️

While many things are changing, the most important part stays the same: our incredible volunteers. You’ll see the same friendly faces at the rest stops and the finish line, ready with a word of encouragement, a cold drink, and that famous Chippewa Valley hospitality. 🥤

📢 Stay Informed & Save!

We have plenty more to share as we get closer to the big day! Watch for more details on all these projects in our upcoming newsletters and on our Facebook page. 📱
